It is necessary to realize that not everyone feels the same about crate training dogs, but everyone does agree a pet needs to feel safe and secure, no matter the situation, in their own home. That is why many owners have or are considering training their pet for the crate. It can help in countless ways for owners and depending upon the pet, sometimes the best option for both.

Although a dog harness is used in walking your dog, by no means does it replace the leash. As a matter of fact, the harness and leash are used together. The most commonly seen method of walking a dog is by attaching a leash to the dog's collar. This works just fine, but when you pull on the leash during a walk or training session, it puts a great amount of pressure on your dog's throat. To better understand this, try to imagine a cord wrapped around your leg and someone trying to drag you around by pulling on it. Doesn't sound all that pleasant, does it? So imagine how a dog's neck must feel when being yanked around by a leash. It's not exactly the most comfortable feeling. This motion is not only uncomfortable, but can also be damaging to the dog's windpipe.

Believe it or not, a leading cause of your pup's allergic reactions is very likely the puppy food he is eating. It can be tricky to tell the difference from one allergy to the next, so people who own a pouch may not know a food allergy when they see it. Food allergies can present themselves at any stage, however, meaning your dog could actually not show any symptoms for a long time (even years), or the may happen within just a few short days. Basically, your pup could be eating a food he is actually allergic to, he's just not showing any reactions yet. Symptoms of allergies can take time to present themselves, because sometimes allergens need to build up first. Statistics state nearly 70 percent of all food allergies are the result of giving your young dog the same puppy food for over two years.

Supervision, consistency, and patience are vital to housebreaking and training your puppy. Once you have decided on your puppy's name you must begin using it when talking, playing, or feeding.
